Went for a drive today on narrow roads covered in snow. Gets a bit hairy when trucks are coming towards you. We pulled over at a couple of spots and sent the drone up for a few photos. Great scenery and incredibly tall mountains.

We left our hotel about 7.00pm to head out hunting the northern lights. Although it was fairly cloudy the guide was pretty optimistic we would see some if we got a break in the clouds.

After a lot of waiting and watching weather maps and aurora apps the guide said the the lights should be showing. A couple of minutes later they appeared, after starting faint they started getting brighter. We had a window of about 15 minutes in which they appeared before the clouds covered the sky again. I think we were lucky to see them, 4 hours of waiting for the conditions to be right for 15 minutes of light. Even though the sky didn’t explode with lights as they can, it was enough to get excited about Finland where we are really hoping we see some great light shows.
